Link to History: In the year marked at 21xx, there are Handead, Zendead, and Alivers. Alivers are 50% of the population, and have been brainwashed to focus only on their work, listless and devoid of joy. The other 50% is Handead or Zendead; Handeads are called "truly living", though physically, they're "half-dead". There's an organization called Dead And Alive, or DAA, who works to undo the brainwashing through the production of music, as Influencer Handead can undo the brainwashing with their voices and turn them Handead through their bites. Zendead are basically listless zombies without the urge to eat human flesh.

Not much is known about Takakage's upbringing; he has a brother, and at one point he left Japan to work in a fashion trade industry job that left him feeling worn and suicidal. When he was about to commit, he heard the singing of one Ko Tenjin, which brought him to tears and helped him find peace simultaneously. Ko brought him back to Japan to join Fukuoka's DAA branch, and he would come to support deva, and Ko above all else.

★ Folkmore Roles & Attributes ★

Skills: Music/dancing/performing.
Canon Abilities: Traits of a normal Handead are: increased physical pleasure and pain and other such sensations. He often goes into a state of frenzy where his naturally heightened emotions run amok and he acts out on them.
Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes: Sheep ears and a tail; he'll be able to transform into a sheep and eventually a black Holland lop rabbit.
Role Reasoning: Takakage's love for Ko and his devotion to him is pure, but it can often leave others in the wayside. He says himself that everything is separated into two categories: Ko Tenjin, and everything else.

That being said, he's selfish and selfless at the same time in that love and devotion, so he's a little complicated. I think Familiar fits him best and his sort of single-minded but dual-natured personality.

I'd like to have him devote himself to Ko of course (Vandal and I have these plans) and then learn what that really means in a place like this. In addition, I'm interested in playing with him learning his own way and identity outside of what it means to be his Familiar.

★ Personality ★

The first thing one might notice about Takakage is ... His utter devotion to and love for Ko Tenjin. His Dead Level Rising lines and actions are often Ko-based, working himself up into a proper frenzy when Ko is around. It's to the point that he created the Dead Point on his hand to match Ko's own, where his real DP is a sliver over his throat. He's aching to be helpful and useful to Ko, eager to please and do whatever he can to help make his life more fulfilling and easy and worthwhile. He even carries with him the knowledge of Ko's true nature and lineage — and never shied away from him, knowing that he was the descendant of the very same dictator that brainwashed so many.

Outside of his devotion and love, Takakage is very efficient and business-like and proper. He worked for a fashion/trading company called Greyword before he met Ko, and dedicated so, so much of himself to them even though the job was sort of dead-end and soul-crushing. He tends to do that — devotes himself to something fully and wholly, although nothing has ever before met the same fervor with which he's devoted to Ko.

He can be curt and blunt with most other folks, and this circles right back around to wanting to make things easier for Ko. He doesn't very much ge along with Atsuhide Eburi — Ko's right-hand man and the second member of deva — but still seeks to work with him in order to heed Ko's wishes and see to it that his vision will be perpetuated in the world, starting there with his closest followers. He's a pretty serious kind of guy, even with his goofy and whimsical childhood best friend, Tengai Hittsukuri, who acts in ways that Takakage would never.

He's not exactly a well-rounded guy in terms of his hobbies and life outside of DAA work, but he does have hobbies indeed. I cannot possibly understate how much he's devoted to Ko; he likes puzzles and mystery novels, but would drop them in a heartbeat if it meant Ko would have something he needed or wanted. He's quick with his words and quips, and can be pretty cutting and biting with them at times. He speaks a bit properly and is kind of a "I'll pencil you in for lunch at 3 on Tuesday" kind of guy. Just a little silly and very much in love.

[ With his precious Ko-sama gone for the day, there's not much else to do other than wait for him to return.

Or, at least that's what Takakage's first thought is when he leaves. He's been told before — gently, lovingly — that he ca be anything he wants here, why not find more hobbies and passions? It'd be a shame to leave one's Handead nature and passions behind when they so easily could have been taken away.

It's not like he doesn't have them to begin with, either. It's more like he just doesn't consider them as important.

So sitting in front of the bookshelf might seem a little comical, were anyone else there to pick on him for it.

And in fact —

Atsuhide's voice comes from behind him, dryly pointing out that books are there to be read. ]

I assumed you'd left for the day! How disappointed I am to see I was wrong.

[ He and Atsuhide might work well together, but its not without both of them kicking and screaming about it the entire time. ]

I'm well aware of their purpose. I'm simply ... Perusing my options, but its not business of yours. Begone.

[ He waves a hand flippantly, and finds himself feeling irritated and a little glad when Atsuhide actually comes closer to tell him about the books... ]
